Tree

In order to create hypothetical bodies (skeletons) from the onrush of clustered motion-capture points, the Tree agent hypothesizes a hierachy among those points — specifically, a dendogram of the motion-capture markers with the euclidean distance metric between points.

In the following two examples, Tree constructs a skeleton for an offline captured solo and re-injects it into the piece (partially overlapping with the performance of the solo itself.

Trina

Cori

The Cori body, conjured up from a captured solo, is tethered to the midpoint of the group of dancers onstage — and divided from them by a red rectangle (often seen in profile as a line).
